I realized I haven't really given everybody an opportunity to hear the music my composer, the fantastic Mr. Russ Howard, has come up with. Give it a listen!
The hallucination music will ultimately end up sounding weirder, once the sound design is done.

ReplyDeleteMy thought about the first cue is that, until the organ comes in, it might sound a bit too sincere -- almost like the background music of a kids show like Arthur. Maybe you wanted a bit more of an ironic edge to it?
The second two cues sound spot-on to me.
It sounds awesome! As Joe said, I love the combination of different musical genres. Really makes the animation stand out. I especially like the guitar rift during the couch sequence.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I'd recommend is that the music be a little bit more 'surreal' and creepy during Darby's hallucination. But I think it still works as it is.
