I like #3 with the TV from #5. Actually, they all look good. I agree with Stephanie that you just have to be careful to make sure that Darby doesn't blend in or get lost on the couch.
I actually like the warm tones in #1 the best- but that is a personal preference. I also agree you need to make sure your characters don't blend in with the BG.
I definitely want it to be as brown as aesthetically-pleasingly possible. The big issue is that I need to make sure none of the colors are too similar to James' browns or Rhonda or Darby's yellows.
I can't decide between 3 and 4. 3 seems too brown to me but Darby kind of blends in with the couch on 4. Maybe #4 with a green couch would be good?
